At Halström Outpost 7 in Antarctica, twelve researchers share one shrinking airlock. A parasitic intelligence called the Thaw has begun copying its hosts. MOIRA assigns your role: protect the Crew or hide among them as Thaw.
Deep Frost is a singleplayer social-deduction horror roguelike set on a failing Antarctic research station. Question named researchers, inspect station records, compare conflicting accounts and decide what to bring to the vote. Relationships and events change between runs. A contradiction is a lead, not proof of infection.
You won't find matchmaking queues, a battle pass, a cosmetics store, or microtransactions. Investigate named researchers with debts, fears, and quiet loyalties. Their hidden roles and relationships change between runs.
Built and published by AeonGames Canada. Character portraits and key art by Krisztian Kiss. MOIRA voiced by Nicola Proctor. Original soundtrack by SMTXGameDemos, with additional licensed audio credited in-game.
AeonGames Canada is a one-person indie studio in Ontario, Canada, founded in 2026 to build paranoid, story-first horror games.
The studio is solo - design, code, writing, audio direction, and marketing all run through one person, with specialist contributors brought in where the work needs them. That commitment lets us pick specific tonal lanes most studios won't touch: cold, deliberate, narrative-forward indie horror that earns its dread in the silences.
Design philosophy: small scope, high replay density, slow-burn dread. Pay every external contributor. Ship something a small audience loves rather than something a big audience tolerates.
The public Steam demo is available now. Screenshots, gameplay clips and preview enquiries are welcome. Antarctic horror, singleplayer social deduction, roguelike structure, and story-first indie games are the natural fit.
Recoupable advances / project investment for launch + post-launch marketing scale. Solo dev, 100% original IP, no equity dilution required.
Singleplayer social deduction, Antarctic body-snatcher horror, and a solo-studio production story make Deep Frost a strong pick for indie horror and showcase events.
Twelve researchers. Nine days. Something is wearing their faces. Deep Frost is a singleplayer social-deduction horror roguelike. You'll read suspects, plant clues, survive the blood test, and try to keep the station alive.
It isn't multiplayer. You won't need matchmaking, lobbies, or voice chat. You investigate named researchers whose hidden roles, relationships and accounts change between runs.
It's launching on Steam on October 27, 2026, and the free Steam demo is available now.
It's built and published by AeonGames Canada. Key art and portraits are by Krisztian Kiss, MOIRA is voiced by Nicola Proctor, and the original soundtrack is by SMTXGameDemos.
